If you haven’t already seen what is brewing over at Yahoo you should take a look. Read about it out here.
Yahoo’s New Advertising Management Platform, or AMP!
What they are doing is trying to streamline all members of online advertisers: publishers, agencies, ad networks, advertisers, etc… into 1 central hub, their platform, AMP!
What I like about it is you will be able to buy impressions directly from other sites with large audiences and with an established online presence. Say you have a nice affiliate program for how to run your car on water, (yes I’ve seen these, just do a search). Well then you could go directly to places like usedcars.com or kbb.com, through their platform, and buy up ad space or impressions and have your advertising setup in hours instead of calling them or sending them an email waiting endlessly for them never to reply.
You may be thinking can’t we already do this with the content network? Yes and no, there are many authority sites that don’t offer adsense or placement marketing, but you have to get on the phone and contact their ad rep. I can only see this as a benefit to us affiliate marketers …
Any thoughts?
