This is Day 3 in a 10 day series on building a Zen-like Landing Page. Yesterday we talked about how to make your landing page more personal by adding a story or including an image of a person. Today we are going to talk about a simple way to increase your landing page’s credibility as well as the offer.
What’s an easy way to make your landing page more credible? By adding something they are familiar with. One way is to add quotes from a famous person, the more famous they are the more weight they carry. For example, say you have an offer about stock trading, you could throw in a quote from Warren Buffet like this “Risk comes from not knowing what you’re doing,” along with his picture. Having a quote from a famous person that is related to your offer can build credibility. Anyone who trade stocks can immediately identify who this guy is and his reputation.
Another way is to add the logo or icon of a well-known newspaper or magazine along with a quote. Going with the same example above, a quote from the Wall St. Journal or Forbes magazine should do the trick. Again it’s an image to give the visitor something to identify with and maybe feel a little more comfortable and trustworthy.
I see the second used much more often, ever been to one of those money-making ebook sites with Entrepreneur magazine right up top? I’ve seen those in several places, this is exactly what they are doing. Heck you can just buy an ad in Entrepreneur at the back, and put on your landing page “As seen in Entrepreneur magazine” … just a thought guys
I hope you can see how this may help your visitor identify with your offer. Again the concept is to build credibility by showing them something they are familiar with …
I know there are probably other ways in doing this, would love to hear what you guys think?
Stay tuned, tomorrow I’m gonna talk about the most important piece of your landing page, miss this and your conversions will plummet!
