I’m still baffled at many affiliate marketers who struggle and complain about how tough google adwords is and how their costs are going up, ads getting disapproved, etc… Yet, they have never taken the time to open up accounts at either Yahoo or MSN??
Amazing! What are the advantages of doing so? I can see many, but for one, if YOU haven’t opened those accounts yet, how many other marketers haven’t done so either? That means there is less competition which directly results in lower costs per clicks overall (in general). Not only that, Yahoo and MSN, are a lot more lax when it comes to ads and landing pages (something that won’t last forever) so take advantage of it.
Below is a screen shot of my total costs across the 3 for the month of March:

You can see that Google gets the lion’s share of the money, however, Yahoo and MSN combined make roughly 16% of my total cost. That translates to 16% of my total profit. (This is assuming my conversion rates are equal dollar-for-dollar across the board, however, yahoo’s CPC is less expensive and MSN is even cheaper).
So if you’re making $10,000 profit per month, that equates to roughly $1600 in lost profit per month or roughly $20,000 in profit per year all because you didn’t take a few hours to sign up with Yahoo and MSN … don’t be lazy!
